Christopher May
 

Christopher May is the founder and primary curator behind TIE, The International Experimental Cinema Exposition. In addition to his work with TIE, May has curated and presented film programs for several museums, film societies and colleges including the Wexner Center for the Arts, MALBA - Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires, The Ross Media Arts Center, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Cinemateca Uruguaya, and San Francisco Cinematheque. May has served as a nominator for the Rockefeller Foundation's Media Artist Fellowship served as a consultant for several other artist grant programs, including the MacArthur Foundation and the Pennsylvania Council for the Arts.

May's programming is recognized for the unique filmic quality, challenging, philosophical nature and international scope. Crediting the wide scope of his programming efforts to his continuing investigation of international avant-garde film, Christopher has researched the work of individual filmmakers, presented global-wide conferences and curated major festivals in the U.S., Canada, Uruguay, and Argentina where May directed a major three component research, installation and film exhibition project that was supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

In addition to river-rafting, snowmobiling, playing tennis, filmmaking, mountain-biking and general trouble-making, Christopher volunteers for at-risk youth organizations in the Colorado region where he designed and implemented a successful experimental filmmaking camp which is being developed as a template for non-profit programs around the United States.
